Education Kills

Education kills!!! According to a Harvard report most of us are born a genius…seriously, no kidding…but the sad part is that 98% of us lose our genius as we grow up… and it’s not due to nature, but nurture.

Education which is supposed to bring out the genius within us is rather stifling our creativity. We are made to cram and mug up subjects which are our aversion. More often than not, education breeds absolute belief than the will to find out and explore. No wonder then that education is killing the genius within us! It’s high time that we do something to change this century old system…

We need an edutainment industry… a system of education that will entertain to educate… one such company which has undertaken the goal to nurture the genius within each child and revolutionize our education system is Mexus Education
I read about this company once I heard of Iken ScientificA’08, actually this was one competition which received lot of adulation, when it was held in Mumbai and Pune last year. The response from students, parents and even principals of schools was simply terrific. This time the scalability of competition has changed manifold with the participation from 21 cities and 1200 schools.
This generation is surely lucky to be born in an Mexus world, which enhances education, enriches the learning experience and honours knowledge and skill through initiatives like Iken ScientificA.

Education needs a revamp

The HSC results are just out and news are already flashing the number of suicides committed due to pressure. It makes one wonder, whether these marks are truly a reflection of the students’ intellect, especially in a system like ours. Seriously, our education system needs a revamp. Can you imagine we are still learning in the same outdated fashion, the way our grandparents learnt?

These days internet has reduced the globe to the size of a tennis ball, yet the school kids can’t take an advantage of it and have to put up with the banal chalk and talk method. They are used to rote learning which stifles creativity and imagination. Instead it would be so much better if they could use educational games and quiz competitions and other innovative methods of learning.

India’s education system is soon becoming our Achilles heel. It’s high time we adapt to the latest technology and update our education system. Online education, online assessment tests and online quiz competitions can really help students to be in par with their foreign counterparts as it will be faster, more convenient and foolproof.

The edutainment industry is slowly but definitely rising up to the challenge in India. The latest buzz is mexus education ltd’s scientifica quiz competition, the biggest national hands on science and technology competition in which about 400000 students across the nation will vie for prizes worth rs.50 lakhs. Hope such competitions help students rediscover science and education and give them a reason to study beyond exams.
